Autism CanTech provides autistic youth with robust supports and training to succeed in their careers. Participants will develop practical and job-transferable skills in preparation for work placements with digital economy organizations. The course recreates a workplace environment in which participants are given opportunities to practise new skills with the guidance of an instructor and career coach. Participants will learn data processing as a job competency, and training will focus on transferable skills such as data conversion, data storage, data validation, metadata, and record keeping. In addition to data processing, participants will learn professional communication skills, software literacy, teamwork and collaboration, and project management. The course offers one-to-one career coaching services, assistive technology, and a no-test no-exam curriculum. This is a six-month training program with four months of instruction followed by a two-month paid work placement.
