This course is part of a 16-week program that teaches the foundational components of business intelligence and data analytics. The course begins with foundational training in computing and digital literacy and covers intermediate skills in common productivity software tools. The analytics training focuses on transferable skills such as importing and converting data files, data storage practices, data validation, analyzing and visualizing datasets, creating dashboards and advanced spreadsheet modeling. At the end of the course, participants will be able to perform manual data tidying using Microsoft Excel and automated tidying using Power Query. Students will complete exercises and workshops designed to increase their comfort with managing and understanding data and learn skills related to working collaboratively with stakeholders on a variety of entry-level tasks. This course will impart skills in creating, interpreting, and presenting data visualizations in PowerBI, and participants who complete the course will be able to engage with data visualizations in an effective way.
