This course combines practicum and in-person lab experiences designed to provide students with a bridge between classroom learning and real-life experience working with children in a childcare setting. Students will be immersed in Alberta�s Early Learning and Care Framework and foundational knowledge that will develop and heighten students� awareness of appropriate practices for working with children across curricular areas. Through simulations, role-plays, and other experiential learning approaches, students will be able to acquire and develop critical thinking and decision-making skills, and safely build skills for working with children.
Please note that ELCC 1100 � Practicum is a work-integrated learning simulation that takes place on the NorQuest campus. If you are currently working at a childcare center and would like to complete your ELCC 1100 practicum as a paid practicum, please be sure to enroll no later than 45 days prior to the start of the term to allow enough time to have a Paid WIL arranged.
