This self-directed online course is uniquely designed to support the practical nursing student's remediation and or return to the Practical Nurse (PN) program. The student will have the opportunity to review, practise, and apply their knowledge and skills to meet identified learning needs. In collaboration with the PN student advisor, a customized learner plan will be created that will include a number of learner modules. Upon completion of assigned course work, including redo labs if applicable, the student will write a Return to Practice exam. A minimum grade of 80% must be achieved on this exam before continuing in the program. This assessment test will require PN students to apply their knowledge of health assessment, pharmacology, pathophysiology, medication administration, and information learned from their nursing foundation courses to be successful. The course prerequisite now requires completion of the Student Self-assessment Form prior to enrolment.
